About Me
Larry has worked in the literary offices of the Guthrie Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club and McCarter Theatre. He earned his MFA in dramaturgy from Columbia University. Many of his short plays have been produced off-off-Broadway in venues including Access Theatre, Bosakowski Theatre, Hudson Guild Theatre, INTAR 53, Thirty Seventh Street Theatre, The Village Gate and the West Bank Cafe (many of these at EAT). In 1998, he served as co-writer/associate producer for BLACK AND WHITE IN EXILE, a PBS documentary series. EAT produced Larry's full-length THE KITCHEN OF HEAVEN at the Mint Theatre in 1999. In response to a call for theatrical reactions to the events of September 11th from Nicola Sheara, Larry created TOTEMS OF THE FALL which was produced as a benefit for Firefighters at Theatre Sounds (Kingston, NY). An expanded version was performed by Emerging Artists and later made into a TV pilot for Most Remarkable Productions. Larry's one-act - ANSWERING THE ECHO - received Honorable Mention for Best Play in New York's 9th Annual Fifteen Minute Play Festival and was published by Smith and Kraus in Best Ten-Minute Plays for 2 Actors-2004. Larry is currently dramatizing the life of Moe Berg, a Jewish American baseball player turned World War II spy, who hunts down Werner Heisenberg, the German Nobel prize-winning physicst, who is building and secretly sabotaging Hitler's atomic bomb.
